    The days are getting longer, and the sun is getting stronger. Here in the East Kootenay's we welcome the arrival of long summer days and warm sunshine! Its also the time of year where blinds & window coverings are more important than ever. Good blinds will help moderate the temperature in your home, reduce glare, protect your interior finishes & furniture from sun damage, and provide you with privacy.

    Window coverings have come along way over the past decade, and the manufacturers are constantly innovating, creating products that enhance your homes appearance, and address the different requirements. 

    Function is priority number one when we are choosing the right products. There are many considerations: Privacy & security (day & night), light filtering, sunscreen to protect your home, & black out functions (for sleeping).

    Privacy is a big concern with many of our clients, particularly in denser neighbourhoods where houses are designed with large windows to capitalize on the wonderful views that we have here in Fernie. 

    Top Down Bottom Up (TDBU) blinds are a popular choice. Top Down refers to the function of being able to lower the blinds down from the top so that they can block only the lower portion of the window. They can also be raised from the bottom up. They can be made ot be completely open, all the way to the top, or all the way to the bottom.  Below is a photo showing TDBU These work
